LiveBeam Mobile Web Project
The LiveBean project is in full swing. The basic functionality of the app is to connect broadcasters who can share information about their location (video, audio and text) with remote viewers based on a request.
The app will:
1. Locate the broadcaster using the phone’s GPS
2. Allow broadcasters to update their status
3. Update a user-account with the broadcasters location and status message
4. Receive request messages from interested viewers
5. Form an active connection between broadcaster and viewer
6. Support live chat between viewer and broadcaster
7. Terminate the connection between viewer and broadcaster
1. Allow users (both viewers and broadcasters) to signup and create profiles
2. Locate broadcasters on a map along with their latest status update
3. Clicking on a broadcaster will generate a profile page
4. From the profile page viewers can send a request message to broadcasters
5. If their request is accepted the viewer enters into a live chat with the broadcaster
If time permits, we would also like the app to:
1. Open up the phone’s capture device once a connection is made
2. Transmit live video from broadcaster to viewer
3. Capture and send still images from broadcaster to viewer
4. Allow viewers to view a map of active broadcasters and generate a request from the phone
5. Allow viewers to create location specific events that generate a request to all users in the vicinity
Here is the basic design of the app along with the results from our brainstorming:
